Leading a Culture of Innovation

Prof. Finker's class taught me how to implement management systems to assess ongoing innovation, use metrics throughout the process, and determine how to incentivize innovation in work teams. Using the seven rules of innovation, I can assess an organization on its degree of innovation and propose a plan for integrating innovation.

Leadership Development

From Eric Savicka's class, I examined the importance of ethical, strategic, and system wide decision-making from the standpoint that leadership opportunities exist at all levels of organizations. I develpoed strategies to influence culture, promote learning, and implement change to move organizations forward. Most importantly I assessed my own leadership competencies and areas for growth to construct a personal leadership development plan.

Leading Strategic Planning

Prof. Essman taught me to analyze the internal & external factors using environmental scanning to assist in determining the strategic decisions of an organization, and then produce a comprehensive and executable strategic plan for public, private, and non-profit organizations to more effectively achieve missions and objectives.

Building the 21st Century Org

Brian Cicero taught me to analyze group and individual behaviors and organizational culture to understand their impact on organizational design, while also taking into account contemporary issues such as diversity and inclusion, unanticipated environmental events, and the role of stakeholders. I learned to evaluate the appropriateness of organizational designs and provide recommendations for innovation and improvement.

Leading Change for Transformation

Dr. Chesson's class provides resources and guides on becoming leaders of change in organizations through an exploration of change theory as well as the tools, models, and techniques for facilitating organizational change. In conjunction, I learned how to enable and inspire other individuals in organizations to create change.

Principles of Finance in Orgs

Mike Kramer's class focused on developing a skillset for applying concepts appropriately to varying organizational types and structures. Additionally, I learned how the assessment of financial conditions combine with other indicators, such as an organization's strategy, to diagnose an organization's overall health.

Spring 2022

Strategic Management taught me to tackle the complexity and ambiguity of strategic decision making by drawing on real world situations faced by firms that either fail or succeed. Strategic management integrated the knowledge and skills acquired in earlier courses. I applied the knowledge I acquired as a student at the Heider College of Business using a multi-disciplinary perspective demanded of a general manager.​

Venture Creation

Spring 2022

Venture Creation is designed to expose the student to the entrepreneurial mindset in various settings, give the student the opportunity to work hands-on with the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, generate an awareness of social entrepreneurship, and give the student tools to plan for the uncertainty and growth inherent to entrepreneurial ventures.

Sports and Special Event Marketing

Fall 2021

The purpose of Sports and Special Event Marketing is to provide an introduction to a specialized topic in marketing. Marketing concepts and activities will be examined in both the marketing of sports and special events, as well as the marketing of other products and services through sports and special events.

Finance for Entrepreneurial Ventures

Fall 2021

Finance for Entrepreneurial Ventures is designed to provide students with exposure to financial concepts in entrepreneurship from both a theoretical and managerial perspective. Additional subject matters also covered brand management, non-profit and B Corps, recognizing business opportunities, changing entrepreneurial landscape, as well as strategy, new markets and emerging technology.

Global Marketing

Fall 2021

Global Marketing was developed to provide students with the background for making marketing decisions in the international business environment and to develop their capacity to assess and solve international marketing problems.

Digital Marketing

Fall 2020

In this course, I learned how technology and the internet has revolutionized the interactions between firms and consumers along this journey. I created online display ads, understood how search engines reach consumers with intent and how websites facilitate conversions, and lastly, learned the ways social media and email marketing help retain customers.

Project & Presentation

Global Scholar's Diploma

For my Global Scholar capstone, I selected Homelessness in North America as the focus of my project. I researched the sources and solutions for homelessness throughout the continent. I also volunteered at a local adaptive housing initiatives like the Coalition for the Homeless in Colorado Springs.

The results of my work came together for a 30-minute presentation in front of my peers, teachers, as well a few subject matter experts.

Student Body Secretary

Leadership Positions

My sophomore year, I was elected by the class as Co-Class President. The highlight of this position and experience came from the planning and hosting of our annual Cupid Night Out dance. I learned about communicating with administration, budgeting, marketing, and logistics of special events planning.

My senior year, the student body elected me as Student Body Secretary. The most notable experience from my time as Secretary would have to be a hosting a 5K Race raising funds used to paid for neighboring native tribe members' tuition to attend our school. 

Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball

4 Year Varsity Athlete

One of few individuals to do so, I played on the top varsity team for 3 sports for my entire duration at Fountain Valley School. By senior year, I had stood as Captain for all three teams. My most notable success was with Tennis, where I represented my school all 4 years at the State Competition, placing 4th at my

One Singles position.

Cultural Programming

Unity Day

Unity Day allowed students from all over the world to represent their culture and teach peers about an aspect of themselves. For our annual Unity day, I hosted a Holi: Festival of Color workshop every year, representing my Indian heritage. I would first educate my peers about Cultural Appropriation and why we celebrate Holi. Then, I would provide food, and color for them to put on each others' faces and clothes to celebrate the holiday.
